Saturday started with sore throat, since both of us were feeling a bit sick. So we get up rather lazily…
Program of the day was covered by the visit into Little Five Points, which is interesting area with various interesting little shops and such. Quite interesting to visit different environment.
From the little shop selling goodies related to native americans, I bought my daily souvenier to myself, yet-another t-shirt :). We also ended up into dicussion with shop owner, who was telling various interesting thingies. Like giving me yet another insider viewpoint into government of USA. It seems that all normal people here no that current president (Bush) really ain’t good guy, and he ain’t doing any good for this country. However, country is stuck with him until next election, so what can be done. Thus shopkeeper just told me that he is sorry because of their president.
After this we drove to Stone Mountains park area, where we had dinner at small german restaurant. We got our own private terrace, were we enjoyed our meal. As always, Linda doesn’t eat much, and I’m making fun out of her.
When leaving from the restaurant I did ”usual” mistake of getting up too fast, and hit my head severely into heavy lamp behind me, hanging from the roof. Ouch! Nasty feeling, which made Linda scared, but I’ve get used into such bumps in my life due to my height. However, accident didn’t happened in total secrecy, since nice couple asked us in the parking lot if I’m ok. They saw incident and worried if everything was ok. Yes, I know that for bystanders such thing tends to look more bad than what they are.
After this, we decided to skip walking in the park, since it was getting anyway a bit late, so Linda took me into sightseeing tour around Atlanta within highway 285 :D. Yeah, Stone mountains are very far from our homebase, in completely other side of Atlanta. Say, over one hour trip to get back from there.
Finally we ended into local mall nearby Linda’s home for shopping some cards and such. We ended up almost locked into Sears, since we were looking for clothes between racks, until one sales clerk noticed that there was still some people inside.
So, after this we didn’t yet give up and went into local bookstore. Aaah! Wonderfull place, like such shops always are. Lots of books and interesting things to investigate. As side note, Linda told that this is the place where she has been spending lot of her time, between the books. We stayed in until bookstore closed (at 23:00), and found out that from here we might be able to buy some souveniers for M & J.
… and it was finally time to get back home, and another day of the trip was over.
