Well, if you own any Nokia phone, you’ve get accustomed that some features simply WORK.
But when you make mistake of going into hype land of Android or Apple then you can simply loose some features which simply exists and work.
Lets pay attention into one function, which has worked always in my Nokia phones: Bluetooth DUN
Why such issue? Well, I just bought to my wife cheap ZTE Blade Android phone, and to my surprise, basic functionality, one which I’ve used with my Nokia 6310i and my Nokia X3-02 with any device (laptop or my good old friend Palm TX, has simply worked. I.e. I’ve been always been able to connect net via Bluetooth DUN, and with X3-02 also with Bluetooth PAN (have to admit that haven’t played enough with that to see why it’s supposed to be better than DUN…).
However, ta-daa!!, ZTE Blade does DOES NOT SUPPORT Bluetooth DUN or PAN. WOW! And even bigger WOW, due to fact that seemingly issue has been open with Google since 2009, and still at year 2011, Android doesn’t support those. WOW indeed.
If I would have known this restriction before buying, well, I would have most certainly not bought such device.
So beware if you buy Apple or Android, you pay price for that… I prefer instead devices which simply just work…
